Catch a Show at Improv Asylum

The origin story of Improv Asylum isn’t exactly glamorous. It all began in the downstairs bar of Boston’s Hard Rock Cafe, where three friends drew a crowd every Monday night as they showed off their improv chops. They got ready for the show in a makeshift "green room" that was actually a broken elevator, and servers tended to interrupt the show by walking straight across the "stage" from the kitchen.

Although that original performance space lacked flair, it did forge a friendship between the trio, as well as a desire to do more. They teamed up to open their own theater dedicated entirely to the art of improv and named it Improv Asylum. Today, the theater hosts regular shows featuring seasoned improv actors and holds classes to shape new performers. Check out the upcoming schedule and snag tickets to an upcoming show.
