Karen Akunowicz is not just a local celebrity chef. Instead, this local chef makes it clear with her first solo restaurant, The Fox and the Knife, that while she is accomplished enough to rack up James Beard awards for best chef in the region, she’s still dedicated to getting all the small details right.
Inspired by her time in northern Italy, Akunowicz and her team have designed a neighborhood restaurant centered around house-made pasta, natural wines, and a warm community atmosphere. Yelp reviewers note that the carefully curated menu has standouts from top to bottom, including a whipped ricotta appetizer, panzanella antipasti, and a variety of pasta entrees (tagliatelle with wild boar and parmiagiano, and campanelle with pesto and feta, just to name two).
