On a warm early-fall evening in Boston, the calm of Castle Island Beach beckons. Locals enjoy watching the sun sink towards the water as layers of pink and orange hug the horizon. Find a spot by the boardwalk and sit down on a bench or spread out a blanket to watch the sun set.
If you’re looking for a more active way to enjoy Castle Island Beach, go for a run or a walk along the trails. Many of them web out from the beach, running different lengths around the larger park. Anyone interested in a long, leisurely walk should take the path that goes around the historic remains of the namesake castle, which runs around the entire perimeter of the park. You can also lay out a towel and do some sunbathing on the beach if you’re lucky enough to catch some warm weather this September!
